Democratic National Convention Update

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) will take place from Monday, July 26 to Thursday, July 29 at the FleetCenter. HSPH will remain open as usual.

Between the hours of 4 p.m. and midnight during the convention, the following will apply:

I-93 will be closed between Exit 20 in Boston and Exit 32 in Medford in both directions.

On-ramps to I-93 North will be closed between Exit 8 (Braintree split) and Exit 20 in Boston. Off-ramps will be open.

On-ramps to I-93 South will be closed between Exit 37 in Woburn and Exit 32 in Medford. Off-ramps will be open.

There will be one lane on I-93 dedicated for emergency vehicles and MBTA buses between each end of Route 128 (from Woburn to Braintree) at all times during the convention.

North of Boston: There will be two lanes of traffic instead of three lanes on I-93 north from Medford (exit 32) to Route 128. South of Boston: There will be two lanes of traffic instead of three lanes on I-93 south from I-90 (exit 20) to Route 128.

North Station will be closed from the evening of Friday, July 23 through Friday, July 30.

Wheelock College, Mass College of Art, and Simmons College have dormitory rooms available to rent during the DNC. Contact Jan Henderson at MASCO at (617) 632-2762 for more information.

Information on traffic and road closures is mounted on easels in the lobbies of the Kresge and FXB Buildings.

The HSPH Mail/Receiving Department will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the week of the DNC. Only essential items should be ordered and delivered during that week.
