Democratic National Convention Update

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) will take place from Monday, July 26 to Thursday, July 29 at the FleetCenter.

WHAT’s New or Updated

MASCO has created a link on its web site at www.masco.org for DNC updates on transportation and security.

CommuteWorks is creating a carpool program during the DNC. Program details will be available soon.

Amtrak will suspend Downeaster service during Convention week.

The Convention’s web site now features a link for information on traffic and on the MBTA (www.boston04.com).

Porter Square Shuttle
Morning: MASCO will provide two shuttle trips in the morning from Porter Square to the LMA during the DNC. There will be a shuttle leaving Porter Square at 7:10 a.m. and another shuttle at 7:57 a.m. 

Evening: There will be two shuttle trips in the evening during the DNC, leaving the LMA to Porter Square at 4:05 p.m. and at 4:35 p.m. The order of the stops from the LMA to Porter Square starts at Joslin Place and then travel to 75 Francis Street, Binney Street Shelter, Shapiro Building, and BIDMC East Shelter.

Lynn Station Shuttle 
Morning: During the DNC, there will be a shuttle trip leaving Lynn Station to the LMA at 6:15 a.m. and another shuttle trip at 7:05 a.m.

Evening: There will be two shuttle trips in the evening, leaving the LMA to Lynn Station at 3:45 p.m. and at 4:45 p.m. The order of the stops from the LMA to Lynn Station starts at Joslin Place and then travel to 75 Francis Street, Binney Street Shelter, Shapiro Building, and BIDMC East Shelter. 

Ruggles Express Shuttle
The Ruggles Express Shuttle will have five buses on its route during the DNC and will operate in the morning between 5:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. (every six to seven minutes between 6:15 a.m. and 8:47 a.m.). The midday shuttle will travel to Ruggles Station every 25 minutes from 10:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. In the evening, the Ruggles Express Shuttle will resume service at 2:45 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. (every eight to ten minutes between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.).

JFK/UMASS Shuttle
The JFK/UMASS Shuttle will operate in the morning between 5:55 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Four additional shuttle trips were added for the morning commute–at 7:50 a.m., 8:13 a.m., 8:40 a.m., and 9:15 a.m. A midday shuttle will operate at 12:20 p.m., 1:20 p.m., and 2:20 p.m. to JFK/UMASS Station from the LMA. In the evening, the JFK/UMASS shuttle will resume service at 3:20 p.m. until 8:05 p.m. 

M6 Chestnut Hill Shuttle
Registered parkers at the Chestnut Hill Parking Lot can take a midday shuttle back to the Chestnut Hill Lot from the LMA at 10:15 a.m., 11:05 a.m., 11:55 a.m., 12:45 p.m., and 1:40 p.m.

Other Facts
Operations will be mounting information and maps related to the DNC and traffic in the lobbies of the FXB and Kresge Buildings.

Due to changes in normal routes, deliveries to and from HSPH may be affected during the DNC. The mailroom will operate on a schedule of 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. the week of the convention.
