HSPH Competition for Selected Funding Opportunities

HSPH members who wish to apply for grants or fellowships in the biological sciences are asked to consult the 2005 HSPH Blue Book at www.hsph.harvard.edu/academicaffairs/HSPH_Blue_Book_2005.pdf to review funding opportunities and application procedures.

Several foundations and other organizations limit the number of applications that can be submitted by Harvard. As a result, the University Committee on the Biological Sciences (UCBS) has established a process for soliciting and reviewing applications once a year for recurring, annual grants. The goal of the meeting is to review invitational award applications and recommend which should be submitted from Harvard. This year’s deadline for nominations is May 6.

Questions may be sent to Jamie Goldberg in the Office of Financial Services at jgoldber@sphofs.harvard.edu.

Recipients will receive $100 gift certificates to http://www.giftcertificates.com. For more information and to read about previous recipients, visit the web site at http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/gptw.

Career Fair Helps Students Find Job Opportunities

More than 60 organizations participated in a Career Fair the week of March 7 in the Kresge cafeteria. Organized by the Career Services Office, the event gave HSPH students and fellows a chance to discuss future job opportunities. At right, a student speaks with a representative from Genzyme.
