HPH NOW, March 19, 2004, Former Partners HealthCare CEO to Discuss Future of Health Care System


	Samuel Thier

Samuel Thier, professor of medicine and health care policy at Harvard Medical School, will speak on "The Future of the Health Care System" on April 1 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Snyder Auditorium as part of the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series.

Thier was president and chief executive officer of Partners HealthCare System from 1996 to 2002. He served as president of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) from 1994 to 1997. He has also been president of Brandeis University and the Institute of Medicine.

Partners HealthCare was founded in 1994 by Brigham and Women’s Hospital and MGH.
