Harvard Women's Health Research Funding Opportunity

The HMS Center of Excellence in Women's Health has announced the fifth annual fund for women's health research. Seven one-year grants for $30,000 each are expected to be awarded. Applications must include collaborations between investigators at two different institutions involved in the HMS Center of Excellence. Those institutions are HSPH, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, HMS, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Joslin Diabetes Center, Children's Hospital Boston, and The Women's Eye Health Task Force.

The fund supports basic research, clinical research, health services research, population sciences research, and educational program development in any area of women's health or in the advancement of women in academic medicine. Applications that focus on issues of particular concern to minority, underserved, and disadvantaged groups are encouraged.

For more on how to apply, visit www.hms.harvard.edu/coewh/HMS_Fund/index.html. The letter of intent deadline is April 11 by 3 p.m. The application deadline is May 2 by 3 p.m.

Direct questions to Lindsay Giorgi, Program Coordinator, at Lindsay_Giorgi@hms.harvard.edu or at 617-732-5502.

WinterFest Celebration

With snow still falling in Boston in March, winter has seemed particularly long this year. But HSPH members reveled with hot chocolate, apple cider, and cookies at Winter Celebration on February 11 in the Kresge cafeteria. Landmark Center threw a similar party on February 17.
