Exams and Defenses

Allison Rosen, doctoral student in the Department of Health Policy and Management, will take her oral exam on Monday, March 8 at 3:30 p.m. in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Rabb 101. Major: health policy; minors: evaluative sciences and health services research. Joseph Newhouse will chair the examination committee.

David Rehkopf, doctoral student in the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health, will take his oral exam on Wednesday, March 10 at 9:00 a.m. in Kresge 708. Major: social determinants of health; minors: biostatistics and epidemiologic and ecologic methods. Brent Coull will chair the examination committee.

Randi Paynter, doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, will present her thesis, "Polymorphisms and Haplotypes in Candidate Genes and Endometrial Cancer Susceptibility," on Friday, March 12 at 11:00 a.m. in Kresge 908.

Jennifer Wegbreit, doctoral student in the Department of Population and International Health, will present her thesis, "The Role of Immigrant Status and Ethnicity in Adolescent HIV Risk: A Survey of Two Multiethnic Schools in California," on Monday, March 15 at 10 a.m. in SPH I-1112.

Matthew Bruce McQueen, doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, will take his oral exam on Monday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. in FXB G-11. Major: epidemiology; minors: biostatistics and neuropsychiatric genetics. Susan Santangelo will chair the examination committee.

Michael Chien, doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, will take his oral exam on Monday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. in Kresge 202. Major: epidemiology; minors: biostatistics and nutrition. Clifford Lo will chair the examination committee.

Beiying Ding, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics at HSPH and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, will present her thesis, "Analysis of High Dimensional Data: Classification, Measurement Error Model and Graph-Based Association Measures, with Application to Microarray Data," on Wednesday, March 17 at 9:00 a.m. in SPH II-426.
