Former French Supreme Court Justice Explains Europeans' Cautious Response to Genetically Modified Foods

Shirley Hung, doctoral candidate in the Department of Nutrition, will present her thesis, "Dietary Antioxidants, Post-Menopausal Hormone Use, and Age-Related Macular Degeneration," on May 14 at 10:00 a.m. in FXB G-13.

Balraj Jhawar, doctoral candidate in the Department of Epidemiology, will present his thesis defense, "Risk Factors for Meni-ngiomas, Astrocytomas, and Herniated Lumbar Discs in the Nurses’ Health Study," on May 17 at 10:00 a.m. in Kresge 908.

Minhee Kang, doctoral candidate in the Department of Biostatistics, will take her oral examination on May 21 at 3:00 p.m. in SPH II-426. Major: biostatistics; minors: theoretical statistics and infectious disease. L.J. Wei will chair the examination committee.

Linda Kelemen, doctoral candidate in the Department of Nutrition, will take her oral examination on May 21 at 3:00 p.m. in SPH II-202. Major: nutrition; minors: biostatistics and epidemiology. Walter Willett will chair the examination committee.

Laurie Thayer Martin, doctoral candidate in the Department of Maternal and Child Health, will take her oral examination on May 22 at 10:00 a.m. in Kresge 606. Major: maternal and child health; minors; epidemiology and biostatistics. Garrett Fitzmaurice will chair the examination committee.
