Exams and Defenses

Rory Geyer, doctoral student in the Department of Genetics and Complex Diseases and Faculty of Arts and Sciences, will present his thesis defense, "Dissertation Defense: BTB/POZ Domain Proteins Are Putative Substrate Adaptors for Cullin-3 Ubiquitin Ligases," on Monday, May 14 in Snyder Auditorium at 2 p.m.

Lauren McLaughlin, doctoral student in the Department of Genetics and Complex Diseases, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, will present her thesis defense, "Nitric Oxide Modulation of Cell Death Signaling and Adaptive Resistance, on Wednesday, May 18 in Kresge 202 at 11:00 a.m.

Andrea Jean Cook, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, HSPH, and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, will present her thesis defense, "Detecting Spatial Clustering for Discrete, Censored, or Longitudinal Outcomes" on Wednesday, May 18 SPHII-426 at 11:30 a.m.

Ryung Suk Kim, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, HSPH, and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, will present his thesis defense, "Microarray Analysis: Choice of Metric, New Clustering Algorithm and Identification of Transcription Factors" on Friday, May 20 in SPHII-426 at 9:00 a.m.

Jessica Ann Lasky Su, doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, will present her thesis defense, "Family-Based Association Methods in Candidate Genes for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder," on Friday, May 20 in Kresge 908 at 9:30 a.m.

Sheng (Richard) Zhong, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, HSPH, and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, will present his thesis defense, "Computational and Statistical Approaches to Study Gene Regulation and Gene Function," on Friday, May 20 in SPHII-426 at 12:00 p.m.

Karen Loeb Lifford, doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, will take her oral examination on Friday, May 20 in the Channing Laboratories 5th Floor Conference Room at 3:00 p.m. Major: Epidemiology; Minor 1: Epidemiology of Aging; Minor 2: Biostatistics. Gary Curhan will chair.

Heather Jeanne Litman, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, HSPH, and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, will present her thesis defense, "Estimation of Marginal Regression Models with Multiple Source Predictors" on Monday, May 23 in SPHII-426 at 9:00 a.m.

Elizabeth Dawn Flick, doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, will take her oral examination on Monday, May 23 in Kresge 908 at 10:00 a.m. Major: Epidemiology; Minor 1: Pharmacoepidemiology; Minor 2: Biostatistics. John Orav will chair.

Sarah Williamson, doctoral student in the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health, will take her oral examination on Tuesday, May 24 in Kresge 606 at 2:00 p.m. Major: Maternal and Child Health; Minor 1: Epidemiology; Minor 2: Biostatistics. Mei-Ling-Ting Lee will chair.

Carmen Gómez Mandic, doctoral student in the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health, will take her oral examination on Thursday, May 26 in Kresge 606 at 3:00 p.m. Major: Community and Policy Intervention Research; Minor 1: Child Development and Disability; Minor 2: Biostatistics. Louise Ryan will chair.
