More than $40,000 was raised to support youth programs of Mission Hill during the 8th Annual Mission Hill Walk for Health in April. HSPH is a co-sponsor of the event. Proceeds will benefit programs such as the Whittier Street Health Center, Sociedad Latina, Mission Hill Community Centers, and Mission SAFE. Adjunct Lecturer Blatt to Attend Intensive Course in Terrorism Preparedness Studies Robin Blatt, adjunct lecturer on society, human development, and health at HSPH, has been named a 2005 Academic Fellow by the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, a non-partisan policy institute based in Washington, D.C. Blatt will travel to Israel at the end of May for a 10-day intensive course in terrorism studies taught by academics, military representatives, and intelligence officials, as well as by diplomats from Israel, Jordan, India, Turkey, and the U.S. The course also includes visits to police stations, customs offices, immigration facilities, military bases, and border zones to learn the practical side of deterring and defeating terrorists. Blatt is currently spearheading a Massachusetts-Israel Life Sciences Project for the Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) of Greater Boston.
