Standing-Room-Only Crowd Attended DPHP Open House

The Division of Public Health Practice hosted its first open house on May 6 to showcase programs and activities in the Division that help promote public health practice. The event also provided an opportunity for students to learn about community agencies and to meet leaders who impact public health practice. Organized principally by the Student Advisory Committee at the Division and Betty Johnson, assistant director for training and curriculum, the open house drew a standing-room-only crowd.

Speakers included Howard Koh, director of the Division; James Ware, Dean for Academic Affairs; HSPH students Geetanjali Datta and Lindsay Rosenfeld, co-chairs of the Student Advisory Committee; Christie Hager, deputy director of the Division; and State Senator Richard Moore and State Rep. Peter Koutoujian, co-chairs of the Joint Committee on Health Care.
