Harvard Annual Fundraising Campaign for Charities Under Way

imageThe annual Community Gifts Through Harvard 2003 Campaign runs until the end of November. The University’s goal is to raise $1 million in gifts to charities. The campaign is coordinated by the University’s Community Affairs Office.

Last year, $1,018,894.96 was donated by Harvard employees to more than 600 charities and nonprofits, largely in Boston and Cambridge.

Harvard employees can choose to donate to a charity of their choice or to the United Way of Massachusetts Bay specifically. Harvard is the largest university donor to the organization, which supports a range of activities including cancer prevention efforts, elderly care and education and job training programs to help families out of poverty.

Campaign pledge cards have been sent to employees and recent retirees by mail. Participants may return their pledges in the provided donor envelope through University Mail.

To receive more cards or information, call 617-495-1598.
