Promotions and Appointments

Stanley Hudson has been promoted to associate dean for student services. He joined HSPH three years ago as assistant dean for enrollment services, with oversight of Admissions, Student Financial Services and the Registrar’s Office.

Roberta Gianfortoni, who has worked with the MPH program for nearly 15 years, has been promoted from director for professional education to assistant dean for professional education. The promotion reflects the added role that Gianfortoni and the Office for Professional Education recently assumed in overseeing aspects of departmentally based, professionally oriented master of science programs subject to the criteria of the accrediting body, the Council for Education in Public Health.

Nancy Turnbull, a lecturer in the Department of Health Policy and Management, has been appointed to the new part-time position of director of academic advising and student mentoring for the school. Turnbull will lead efforts to coordinate existing advising-related endeavors throughout the school, will develop and implement activities aimed at improving or supplementing current advising-related activities, and will evaluate academic advising and student mentoring, defined broadly. Turnbull is also director of the two-year master’s program in the Department of Health Policy and Management.
