Experiencing physical pain is common for many Americans yet its biological underpinnings and best treatments are not always well understood or communicated. HSPH cosponsored "A Discussion on Pain in America: Prevalence, Treatment and State of Research" with Research!America on November 5 in Snyder Auditorium. The speakers included Dean Barry Bloom; Mary Wooley, president, Research!America; Kathleen Foley, attending neurologist, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; Jeremy Nobel, adjunct lecturer in health policy and management, Department of Health Policy and Management, HSPH; Michael Lasalandra, medical and health reporter, Boston Herald; Beth Collins Sharp, health scientist administrator, Center for Outcomes and Evidence, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality; Hon.
