New Resource Matches Donors to Public Health Projects

Abstract Deadline is September 24

HSPH faculty are encouraged to take advantage of a new resource for matching research projects with donors interested in supporting public health. Called Donors4PublicHealth, the service is made available by the Association of Schools of Public Health and the Winokur Family Foundation. Donors4PublicHealth is a database on the web that philanthropists may use to read abstracts about public health projects. The aim is to introduce potential donors to proposals for projects that may match their philanthropic interests. The individuals may then contact participating schools to learn how to fund the project.

Projects may seek funding between $10,000 and $250,000. Accepted abstracts, up to 10 per school, will be posted on the Donors4PublicHealth web site, http://www.donors4publichealth.org, when it launches on October 15. The site is now under construction.

Faculty interested in submitting a project to be included as one of HSPH's 10 projects on the site may submit their abstracts to the Office of the Dean by Friday, September 24. Visit http://www.asph.org/document.cfm?page=841 for abstract and submission information.
