Deborah Prothrow-Stith
Deborah Prothrow-Stith, professor of public health practice and Associate Dean for Faculty Development, will serve as the HSPH representative to the University Committee on Faculty Development and Diversity. This committee was created as a result of the recommendations of the Task Forces on Women and will assist in carrying out the work of Evelynn Hammonds, the new Senior Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity.

As a member of the University Committee, Prothrow-Stith will help review programming and process across the University, contribute to the development of education and training programs, and play a key leadership role in implementing change at the School and University levels. She will act as the primary faculty liaison between the School and the Senior Vice Provost's Office and will work closely with Bernita Anderson, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and Carolyn Dueck Clement, Director of Faculty Development, to ensure momentum of faculty development and diversity issues.

Prothrow-Stith is a nationally recognized public health leader, a member of the Faculty Diversity Committee, and a longtime member of the Harvard community.

"I am very pleased that Deborah has agreed to serve on the University Committee at this important juncture and hope that together we will be able to better address the needs of our faculty," said Dean Barry Bloom.
