Teaching Assistant Policy

The Department of Nutrition has the following policy for paying TAs:

–Teaching Assistants are those who do teaching (e.g., running sections, holding office hours, grading papers when the grading requires higher level knowledge in the subject). Payment for Teaching Assistants typically occurs at the end of the semester of service.

A 2.5 credit course pays $1700.

A 5 credit course pays $2200.

–Course assistants are those who do primarily administrative work (e.g., syllabus, course readings, arranging logistics).

CAs are paid on an hourly basis up to a maximum of $1000 per 2.5 credit course.

If you are asked to TA a course, please complete the TA Contract and return to Stefanie Dean in Room 310.
