Philip Parks, MD, MPH, FACOEM
Philip Parks, MD, MPH, FACOEM is an attending physician and Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Cambridge Health Alliance. In addition to his clinical and teaching roles at Cambridge Health Alliance, Dr. Parks is also a guest lecturer at the Harvard School of Public Health, provides career seminars to Harvard Occupational Medicine physicians in residency training, is a member of the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency Advisory Committee and serves as the Harvard Occupational Medicine Residency’s liaison to the US Navy.
Dr. Parks is also a Strategic Advisor and Research Scientist at H21, a human capital management and occupational health and safety consulting firm. Dr. Parks works with corporate clients to design, implement and optimize strategic population health management programs. Through evidence-based methods and best practices, Dr. Parks provides solutions to clients who seek to improve the health of human capital resources, improve productivity of employees and reduce healthcare costs.
Prior to founding H21, Dr. Parks was a physician executive at Lifespan Corporation, Rhode Island’s largest healthcare system and second largest employer. At Lifespan, Dr. Parks was the Medical Director of Lifespan’s self-insured health plan and Medical Director of Lifespan’s enterprise-wide Occupational and Employee Health Services for four hospitals in Rhode Island. He is a recognized expert and thought leader and has published high impact articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Parks received his M.D. and M.P.H. from Tulane University, a second Master’s degree in Occupational Health from the Harvard School of Public Health and completed his residency training in Occupational Medicine at the Harvard Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency program. Dr. Parks is also a faculty member at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative where he provides expertise in humanitarian assistance and disaster response. He is board certified in Occupational Medicine, a member of the New England College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Board of Directors, a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and a diplomate of the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Parks has served on active duty and is currently an Undersea Medical Officer in the US Navy Reserves.
