Laboratory & Biological Safety Education Series
The Office of Regulatory Affairs and Research Compliance (ORARC) in conjunction with the HSPH Laboratory and Biological Safety Focus Forum (LBFF) is committed to providing on-going support and education to the HSPH research community. Join our lab managers, researchers, and research staff for these education/training sessions including presentations, panel discussions, as well as time for questions and answers. Laboratory personnel who attend relevant sessions will receive training credit towards the fulfillment of the Harvard University EH&S training requirements.
|Liquid Nitrogen Training: Proper Practice, Procedures, and Protections|

Does your lab uses, handles or stores cryogenic liquids? Are you familiar with the hazards associated with the use of Liquid Nitrogen?
This session will focus on the best practices in the use of Liquid Nitrogen. The session is designed for both new and experienced staff. Discussion topics will range from understanding the properties of liquid nitrogen and hazards posed by uncontrolled release or improper use of liquid nitrogen to basic safe working procedures (including the handling, storage and shipping of cryogenic vials) to proper procedures and personal protective equipment to wear while working with Liquid Nitrogen.
|Principles of Steam Sterilization|
