The custodial services at the Harvard School of Public Health are provided Harvard University Facilities Maintenance Operations (F.M.O.) and are under the overall direction of the HSPH Operations Office.

Two on-site supervisors cover the workday between 7:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M. and direct a custodial crew that attends to bathrooms, public areas, classrooms and auditoria as well offices and laboratories. Labs are attended to beginning at 2:00 P.M. and most offices after 5:00 P.M.

An important service, floor stripping and waxing and carpet shampooing may be arranged by calling 617-432-4270 and requesting a date for service. A reminder, all items on the floor of the area must be picked up by the occupants and secured before cleaning.

The custodial staff is also involved in the School’s recycling program and we have designated a position within the crew to function solely in this program. Please help us to maintain our recycling program by depositing trash in the proper receptacle — i.e. mixed paper, metal cans, glass, batteries etc. “please participate, don’t contaminate.”
