The auditorium, classrooms and dining facilities of the School of Public Health are available to qualified organizations for conferences, symposia and seminars under the following conditions subject to established fees for services required and advance notice to HSPH Operations.
All events being held at the School of Public Health must be officially sponsored by an HSPH department or faculty member. This information must be included in your request.
HSPH Sponsored Events:
- Classroom and auditorium reservations must be made with the Office for Student Services by calling 432-4067.
- A letter of request/intent on the sponsoring department’s letterhead must be submitted to the Operations Office for the coordination of required security, lighting, audio visual, custodial and heating/ventilation/air conditioning needs. These arrangements must be made at least one month prior to the event. No charges will be incurred for the above services by the host department IF the function satisfies HSPH sponsorship requirements.
- Catering services are to be provided by Harvard Dining Services in all instances. Please call Laurie Torf at 432-1045 for Harvard Dining / Sebastian’s. A fee will be charged for any catering services and payment will be made to Harvard Dining. Harvard Dining is able to provide a wide range of options and cost schedules. Follow this link for more information on Harvard Dining Services.
Agencies and groups not directly affiliated with the Faculty of the School of Public Health, requesting co-sponsoring of an event, should be appraised of the cost schedules for services required. Follow this link for the cost schedule for HSPH affiliated and non-affiliated groups. These charges are independent of any that may be incurred for catering services.
It is most important that functions attracting guests or participants outside of the Harvard Community be provided with some form of identification facilitating entry into the School of Public Health for the event. It has been desirable to post a member of the sponsoring department at the Kresge Building lobby entrance to aid in this process and provide directions to visitors. Our security personnel are instructed to request proper identification of all people entering the School and to detain those unable to provide such, which in many cases causes an unfortunate and embarrassing delay.
If a guest speaker is considered controversial due to affiliation with publicly debated political issues, it is strongly suggested that coordination of police coverage with the Harvard University Police Department occur. Please be sure to clear this matter with the Harvard School of Public Health Communications Office to seek advise well in advance of the function.
Follow this link for a list of available conference/meeting rooms, classrooms and auditorium available to the School’s community for use.
In general, room 110 in Kresge Building will not be assigned for use to any group from outside the School. Priority is given to School-wide events that are deemed appropriate by the School of Public Health Dean’s Office. Requests for use of room 110 may be directed to the Dean’s Office at 432-1025.
Participants and guests should be advised to use public or commercial transportation when attending any daytime / weekday functions at the School. Evening, weekend or holiday events do allow for extremely limited parking.
If a weekday function will include any participant or guest who is disabled and requires on-site parking, please call the HSPH Operations Office at least three days prior to the event and we will arrange for parking.
The School provides a number of audio / visual services. Follow this link for a complete listing.
