There are approximately 300 postdocs at the Harvard School of Public Health. All postdocs are members of the postdoc association (PDA).
The PDA is governed by a Council made up of President, Vice President, Secretary, Social chair, Treasurer, Workshop chair, etc. Any postdoc can run for council membership or attend council meetings. Elections occur in August/September each year. Council meetings occur 1 per month.
Postdocs are under Faculty Affairs. The council meets with the Faculty advisory board often to discuss their ideas.
Being part of the council allows you to meet and connect with postdocs outside your lab/department and understand the bigger picture of what postdocs go through/the process of being a postdoc. Being involved in the PDA council allows you to make these connections early on.
