The mission of the Division is to translate passion and learning into advances that protect the health of all. Dr. Howard K. Koh is the Division Director, the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice, and the Harvey V. Fineberg Professor of the Practice of Public Health. The Division prepares students for leadership positions and nurtures community partnerships to meet health challenges.

In the News
Researchers at the Harvard Tobacco Control Research Program, led by Dr. Greg Connolly and Hillel Alpert found in comparing trends of sales of all tobacco products in the U.S., that 30% may be offset by the strong sales of small cigars, snus, and other products. Their research letter was published in JAMA on June 11, 2008. The major factor in the apparent switch to different tobacco products appears to be price; thus low taxes on non-cigarette tobacco products keep addiction 'affordable.' More
