Funding Opportunities

The Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies offers a number of funding programs designed to foster innovative research projects in the areas of population sciences and population health. Each involves a competitive application process. Pop Center Seed Grant Program

Open to all Harvard University faculty and affiliated postdoctoral research scholars. The call for applications is announced in January of each year. Domestic and international projects are considered for funding. Awards range from $500 – $10,000.

RWJF Health & Society Scholars Seed Grant Program

Open to all Harvard University faculty and affiliated postdoctoral research scholars. There are two calls for applications each year: one in October and one in March. Awards range from $10,000 – $30,000. U.S. (domestic) based research is considered only.

PGDA Pilot Project Program

Open to all Harvard University faculty. A call for applications is issued in February of each year. Pilot project grants typically range from $10,000 – $25,000. Higher awards can be considered with caveats.

Exploratory Workshops

Open to Pop Center faculty members only. The call for applications is announced in November of each year. Awards up to $10,000 underwrite expenses related to convening theme- or project-based one day workshops.
