Maine - Harvard PRC
Overview
The Maine
- Harvard Prevention Research Center (M-HPRC) is a
collaboration among the Maine Bureau of Health (MBOH), the Maine
Center for Public Health (MCPH) and Harvard Prevention Research
Center (HPRC) to enhance Maine's capacity in applied prevention
research. The M-HPRC initiative catalyzes growth both for the MBOH
as well as for the funded communities.
Begun in October 2000, the mission of the M-HPRC is to provide
prevention research, information and dissemination activities
in Maine to improve public health interventions and better the
health of the population. The goal is to reduce physical inactivity
and obesity and improve nutrition in Maine, primarily among
children and youth.
