Gender Disparities in Athletics

With funding from the Minority Girls in Athletics Research
Initiative of the Caroline and Sigmund Schott Foundation,
Harvard Prevention Research Center documented gender
and race disparities in youth sports participation in
Massachusetts in the context of Title IX of the Education
Amendments of 1972.

The following two reports resulting from the research
are available for download in PDF format:

1. Title IX in Massachusetts reviews epidemiological
   evidence for sex disparities in youth physical
   activity in the Commonwealth.



2. Keeping Score: Girls' Participation in High School
   Athletics in Massachusetts. The National Women's
   Law Center and HPRC developed this comprehensive
   report examining epidemiological evidence of gender
   disparities in light of evidence of discrimination
   against girls in high school athletics in Massachusetts.
