This page is for students, faculty members, Practicum host organizations and the broad community of people engaged in public health.
As we know, academic knowledge must be tested and applied if it is to solve public health problems – communities and public health institutions rely on and inform each other. As an essential part of this relationship, professional-degree students practice their skills by working in and contributing to the needs of an agency, institution, or community organization concerned with health, while also contributing to the needs of that organization.
We have created this website as a resource for both students and sponsors of Practicum Projects. Included are guidelines for appropriate placements, information for sponsors, and a listing of some previous Harvard Chan School students’ practice sites.
We welcome comments and suggestions for exchanges between the Harvard Chan School and the public health community. We especially encourage the many public health constituencies to interact with us and to identify and promote new and challenging practicum projects for students. We hope you will become engaged in developing the public health leaders of tomorrow.
