We are pleased to announce that Francesca Dominici will become Senior Associate Dean for Research. In this role she will assume many of the responsibilities previously held by Karen Emmons, including overseeing the Office of Research Strategy and Development which provides critical services, support and strategic direction to increase HSPH faculty competitiveness for extramural research funding and advances the School’s capacity to adhere to the highest research standards.
In her new role, Francesca will continue the efforts and initiatives she has directed as Associate Dean of Information Technology focused on research computing.
Francesca came to HSPH as a tenured Professor of Biostatistics in 2009 from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, and was appointed Associate Dean of Information Technology in 2011. Her research interests focus on the development of statistical methods for analyzing large observational data, with the ultimate goal of addressing important questions in environmental health science, health related impacts of climate change, and comparative effectiveness research. She has extensive experience in the development of statistical methods and their applications to environmental epidemiology, implementation science and health policy, outcome research and patient safety.
Please join us in congratulating Francesca on her new role, and in working collaboratively with the leadership team in ensuring that the many research activities of the School continue at the highest possible levels while competing effectively for resources in a rapidly changing and highly competitive environment.
