There are numerous institutional instruments derived from the Nuremberg
Codes and Helsinki Accords which act to regulate clinical research and
impose certain standards - among them are Institutional Review Boards (aka IEC or ERB).
This section defines and discusses institutional review boards, as well
as the standards and problems that pertain to them.
