Dr. Friese joined HSPH and Dana-Farber after completing his PhD at the University of Pennsylvania. In his dissertation, he studied the staffing, educational preparation, and practice environments of registered nurses and outcomes of care for surgical oncology patients.
His post-doctoral fellowship (funded by the National Cancer Institute Cancer Prevention Training Grant) extends his training in cancer control and population sciences. He specializes in the use of existing databases to answer important questions regarding the quality of care provided to patients during the cancer continuum.
