A postdoctoral fellow is sought immediately to help develop a permeabilized smooth muscle preparation that can be activated and relaxed multiple times.  This preparation will be used both to study its activating mechanism(s) and to study the mechanical properties of the preparation, including its force-velocity characteristics and its transient tension responses to sudden changes in length.  PubMed for Lincoln E. POSTDOCTORAL POSTIONS, are available in the Molecular and Integrative Physiological Sciences at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA.  Faculty interests include innate immunity, signal transduction, redox signaling, cellular biomechanics, airway inflammation, airway remodeling, integrative physiology, physiological genomics and bioengineering.  These interests are applied to understanding physiology of the normal lung, as well as physiological alterations associated with asthma, infection and air pollution.  (posted 6/26/09)
