Dr. Kile is interested in environmental and molecular epidemiology. Specifically, her research has focused on 1) the application of biological markers for studying exposures to both essential and non-essential metals, 2) the interaction between host factors (genetic polymorphisms, nutritional status) and environmental exposures. She has an active interest in international environmental health studies and projects on water and health.

Current research projects include:

1)    Arsenic and Reproductive Health in Bangladesh - a prospective study that will investigate the effects of arsenic exposure on reproductive outcomes including birth weight.

2)    Arsenic, Folate, and Skin Disease – evaluate the interaction between arsenic, folate, and folate genes on non-cancerous skin lesions in a case-control study conducted in Bangladesh.

In addition, she is the instructor for Principles of Environmental Health, a case-based course that introduces graduate students to the field of environmental health.
