Harvard NIEHS Center for Environmental Health

Director's Fund

The HSPH-NIEHS Center Director's Fund is a mechanism by which the Center can provide rapid response to special needs and to exploit emerging scientific advances and novel opportunities.

For example, the Director's Fund might be used for:

  • acquisition of new instrumentation
  • acquisition, storage, or analysis of precious samples that might otherwise be lost
  • support for specific training of staff or Center investigators in a new technology or method
  • responding to an unforeseen event with environmental consequences

Funds Allocation

As its name suggests, allocation of the Director’s Fund resources will be made by the Center Director (Dr. Douglas Dockery) based on recommendations of the Director’s Fund Steering Committee. This committee is chaired by Dr. Les Kobzik, Associate Center Director, and consists of the Research and Facility Core Directors (see below).

How to apply for Director’s Funds

Requests for Director’s Funds should be made directly to the appropriate Research Core or Facility Core Director.
