The HSPH-NIEHS Center Director's Fund is available for rapid response to special needs and to exploit emerging scientific advances and novel opportunities. These funds will be primarily used for the rapid response to opportunities that emerge from the work and initiatives of the Research Cores or to unexpected events. Examples include acquisition of new instrumentation, rapid response funds to allow acquisition/storage/analysis of precious samples that might otherwise be lost, support for specific training of staff or Center investigators in a new technology or method, or responding to an unforeseen event with environmental consequences.
How are Director’s Funds Allocated?
The allocation of the Director’s Fund will be made by the Center Director (Dr. Douglas Dockery) based on recommendations of the Director’s Fund Steering Committee. This Steering Committee will consist of the three Research Core Directors (Drs. John Godleski, Russ Hauser, and Robert Wright) and two Facility Core Directors (Drs. Les Kobzik and Brent Coull) and will be chaired by Dr. Kobzik, Associate Center Director.
How to apply for Director’s Funds?
Requests for Director’s Funds should be made directly to one of the Research Core or Facility Core Directors.
