The research of Dr. Ying Zhou focuses on air pollution risk assessment. This involves quantitatively assessing the human exposure to pollution from local to national scales through a combination of atmospheric fate and transport models, geographical information system, and predicative statistical models. The current project evaluates the exposure and health risk implications of aviation-related emissions. The goal is to understand the spatial heterogeneity in airport emissions and to determine whether prioritization base on maximum individual risk would correspond with prioritization based on total population risk.
