Alan Geller gave the 2nd Annual Howard K. Koh Distinguished Visiting Professor Lecture at Boston University School of Medicine on September 7, 2011.
Alan Geller chaired the Oct 5-6, 2011 American Cancer Society-sponsored meeting entitled ‘National Meeting to Develop an Advocacy and Research Strategy to Dramatically Reduce Tanning Bed Use among Teens and Young Women’ at the ACS headquarters in Atlanta.
Professor Greg Connolly provided expert testimony at the US FDA’s Tobacco Product Scientific Advisory Committee (TPSAC) on July 21-22, 2011 related to dissolvable tobacco products, a new form of smokeless tobacco (more…)
COMMITTEES & INITIATIVES
Launching of FDA Watch. This month, the Department’s Center for Global Tobacco Control launched the FDA Tobacco Watch, an ongoing repository of information on hearings and actions taken by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Tobacco Product Scientific Advisory Committee (TPSAC). It provides information on how the public health community and tobacco control advocates can take part in the regulatory process of tobacco products through oral submissions and written testimonies at TPSAC meetings.
