Dr. Jim Dunn is the William Lyon Mackenzie King Visiting Chair in Canadian Studies at Harvard University for 2011-12. Here at HSPH, he is affiliated with SHDH and will be teaching SHDH 502 in Fall 2 (see course highlights section of this newsletter). His research program focuses on questions regarding the social determinants of health and the influence of economic and social policies and programs on inequalities in health and child development, with a focus on urban housing and neighborhoods. Welcome Dr. Dunn!
Ryan David Kennedy recently joined the Center for Global Tobacco Control as a Research Associate. Ryan’s research program focuses on advancing tobacco-free policies in hospitality venues, sporting environments, multi-unit dwellings, and outdoor environments. Ryan also works with a team of researchers involved in improving the Canadian primary-care cessation referral system.
Natasha Sokol recently joined the Center for Global Tobacco Control as a Research Associate. Her areas of interest are mental health and social and behavioral sciences, with the goal of better understanding issues of addiction.
Tuula Oksanen has been an SHDH post doc fellow. Tuula is leaving to go back to Finland. Best wishes for your future endeavors – thank you for all your efforts here!
