Tuition and Fee Schedule July 2012 – June 2013

(All but HCM SM1 Program)

MASTERS (SM/MPH) STUDENTS TUITION
All Masters Students are charged based on a per credit assessment (full-time and part-time* students)
SM1 and MPH student who are entering the program as of July 2012** $ 992.00 per credit
Full-time tuition for one – year master’s degree students (42.5 credits required) $ 42,160 per year
SM2 $ 940.00 per credit
Full-time tuition for two-year master’s degree students (40 credits per year expected) $  37,600 per year
DOCTORAL (SD/DPH) STUDENTS TUITION
All Doctoral Students are charged a flat tuition rate
(40 credits per year required)
Full-time flat rate, years 1 and 2 $ 37,600 per year
Full-time reduced flat rate, year 3 $ 18,800 per year
Facilities fee, year 4 to thesis defense $   4,700 per year
Dissertation defense fee $   2,075 final semester
Tuition for part-time resident doctoral students *
(minimum of 10 credits per semester required)
Part-time flat rate, years 1-4 $ 18,800 per year
Part-time flat rate, years 5 and 6 $   9,400 per year
Facilities fee, year 7 to thesis defense $   4,700 per year
Dissertation defense fee $   2,075 final semester
Tuition for non-resident doctoral students *** $   2,600 per year
Dissertation defense fee $   2,075 final semester
(Tuition adjusted to this rate the semester the thesis is defended, submitted, and voted by the faculty and corporation.)
STUDENTS FEES
Summer matriculation (2012)
MPH and SM1 students who start July 2012 $ 992 per credit
All Other (except HCM) $ 940 per credit
Registration fee
(Summer, Fall and Spring)		 $ 125 per semester
Academic Records fee $ 10 one-time fee
HUSHP Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)**** $ 2,168 per year
Charged to every resident and full-time non-resident student. Full- and part-time students may waive this fee and this coverage if on-line waiver form is completed prior to August 31st for Fall, and February 28th for Spring proving comparable coverage by U.S.-based insurance carrier.
HUSHP Student Health Fee (SHF) $ 930 per year
Compulsory for all resident students taking more than 10 credits per semester. Part-time students taking 10 credits or less may waive this fee and this coverage if on-line waiver form is completed prior to August 31st for Fall, and February 28th for Spring.
Leave of absence status fee/active file status fee $ 125 per semester
Students petition for this status prior to start of semester and may not be making degree progress.
Late registration fee $ 80
*Please refer to information in HSPH Student Handbook on part-time matriculation including minimum tuition, loan eligibility, deferring prior loans and billing procedure for part-time students.
**MPH student who began their MPH program prior to May 2012 will be charged $940 per credit.
*** The HUSHP Student Health Fee is not charged for part-time domestic (U.S. citizens and permanent residents) non-resident doctoral students.  Therefore, if part-time domestic non-resident students desire HUSHP Student Health Fee coverage, they should contact the Student Insurance Office at 617/495-2008.  HUSHP Basic fees are not charged for non-resident students.
****Family/spousal health insurance is available to all students at a coverage fee of $8,020 for a student and spouse; $5,682 for student and child; $10,604 for a student, spouse and child; and $11,902 for a student, spouse and children.  These fees include both HUSHP Supplemental and the HUSHP Basic (combined).
