Required Regalia

Graduates who intend to march in the University's Commencement exercises on the morning of June 5th and/or in the afternoon ceremonies at HSPH are required to wear academic regalia: a cap, gown and hood.  You may rent a cap, gown and hood from the Harvard Medical Coop.

Rental and Purchase Information

NOTE: THE DEADLINE TO RENT IS SATURDAY, APRIL 19, 2008

A $25.00 late fee will be added to orders placed between April 21st and April 25th
Absolutely no orders will be taken after April 25th.

It is strongly recommended that you go in person to the Kresge Cafeteria events to rent your regalia.  

Where can I order my Cap and Gown?

AT HSPH: The Harvard Medical Coop will be in the Kresge Cafeteria to take rental regalia orders on the dates below.  There will also be rings (and a representative from Herff Jones, the Coop’s official ring vendor), announcements, and diploma frames for sale. All orders for class rings, announcements and diploma frames, taken at these events, will be discounted.

Tuesday, April 8th: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Wednesday, April 9th: 11:30 am - 4:30 pm

AT HARVARD MEDICAL COOP: Regalia orders will be taken at the Harvard Medical Coop (in person, phone, and fax - see details below) from April 1-19th.   Class rings, announcements, and diploma frames are also available at the Coop.

In person: The Harvard Medical Coop is located at 333 Longwood Ave. across from Children’s Hospital. Regular Coop hours are Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 6:00pm, Saturday: 11:00am - 5:00pm  

By phone: call 617-499-3312 to leave your order information.  You must provide your full name (please spell last name), telephone number, school you are graduating from, degree you are receiving, height, weight, and credit card number including expiration date.  Doctoral students also need to provide head circumference for tam sizing.

By fax: send to 617-277-7944.  The fax should provide the same information as above.

Regalia Pick Up Information

Pick up your rented regalia between May 29th and June 5th at the Harvard Medical Coop at 333 Longwood Avenue across from Children’s Hospital.  Regular Coop hours are Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 6:00pm, Saturday: 11:00am - 5:00pm

Regalia Return Information

All rented regalia must be returned by Thursday, June 12, 2008.  A LATE FEE of $25.00 will apply if not compliant with this deadline.  Failure to return regalia by July 1, 2008, could result in a liability of up to $600.00. 

Regalia Order Cancellation

If you are unable to attend Commencement, you must cancel your order by April 30, 2008.  No refund will be given to orders cancelled after that date.
