Financial Degree Requirements
Students in a one-year degree program must pay for a minimum of one year of full-time tuition or its part-time equivalent; those in a two-year degree program must pay two years of full-time tuition or its part-time equivalent. Doctoral students are required to pay a minimum of two years of full-time tuition, one year of full-time reduced or its part-time equivalent, and a thesis defense fee.
All degree candidates must:
- Be registered continuously as a resident student, a non-resident doctoral student, or a student on leave of absence.
- Pay full tuition for a designated number of years. (Amount depends on degree program and, for doctoral students, on their previous affiliation with HSPH.)
- Pay the appropriate tuition rate for each registration period as outlined in the Tuition and Fees Schedule.
- Pay all outstanding debt to Harvard University, including but not limited to Harvard Real Estate rent, Shattuck International House rent, HSPH Emergency Fund loans, library fines, and course materials charges.
