Housing Guide

Welcome to the HSPH housing guide. Designed by the Office for Student Affairs, this guide will help you navigate the Boston housing market. Though Boston may seem expensive, you can make it work. Your success will depend on what you want and knowing where to look for it.

Becoming familiar with the neighborhoods in and around Boston is a priority. For instance, studio apartments in the Fenway area average around $1000 per month, but in nearby Mission Hill, studios average $800 per month. Reviewing the basics will help you visualize Boston's neighborhoods and communities.

Once you have an idea of where you'd like to live, there are still a number of things to consider. Cost and location are primary conerns, but you might also need to consider roommates and local transportation.

In summary, just remember it's never too early to start your search. If you do the research before you commit, you will succeed despite the competition.
