Housing Resources

Things to Consider

Before you start your search, ask yourself:

  • How much money can I spend living in Boston: rent, utilites, transportation, food, clothing, textbooks, socializing, sightseeing, etc...?
  • How much time can I spend: studying, researching, teaching, networking, commuting, socializing, traveling, etc...?

Before signing a lease there are a few more things to consider, including, but not limited to: apartment condition, utilities, furnishings, appliances, landlords, sublets, pets and insurance. For information on these topics, visit our choosing an apartment page. The City of Boston's Rental Housing Resource Center is also helpful when renting an apartment.
