The Facility

Maintained by the Harvard School of Public Health, Shattuck House is made up of seventy apartments in three connected apartment buildings. Each of the seventy apartments is furnished and has its own kitchen and bath. Common rooms include a computer lab with printer, laundry room, study/function room, tv room, piano room, exercise room, and children's playroom. There is also an outside recreation area with a BBQ grill and children's playgrond. Each four-story building is equipped with an elevator. Shattuck House offers students a variety of apartments sizes and rental options to meet your housing needs. Students with families and children are encouraged to apply.  Shattuck has two different types of apartments (one and two bedroom) and offers three rental options:

One-Bedroom One-bedroom apartments have a separate living area, kitchen, and bath. These units are suitable for one person or a couple, dependent on size (300 - 600 sq.ft.)
Two-Bedroom Two-bedroom apartments have a separate living area, kitchen, and bath. These units are noramlly rented by by families with children or shared by two unrelated students (500 - 700 sq.ft.)
Two-Bedroom Roommate Match Two-bedroom apartment (same as above) where an applicant may rent one of the bedrooms and we will match you with a roommate (500 - 700 sq.ft.)

 

*Families with three or more children should explore other housing options, as the apartments are not adequately furnished for large families.

As of June 16, 2008, Shattuck International House will be a non-smoking building.  Smoking will be prohibited in all areas of the building including within the individual apartment units.  A designated smoking area is located in front of the building by the gate.

Typical Shattuck Apartments

Units vary, but all include a full kitchen, bathroom, hardwood floors, and furniture. Students bring their own finishing touches to make it feel like home.

Shattuck House Events

Most residents participate in frequent all-house activities such as potlucks and world celebrations. Other friends enjoy more casual dinners together, hang out to watch movies, play ping-pong, or dance salsa!
