An integral part of our women and health agenda is to identify knowledge gaps and facilitate research to fill them. Targeted research and the translation of new knowledge into evidence will drive changes in policy and practice. The W&HI’s research priorities are:

  • Strategies to facilitate the introduction and sustainability of evidence-based practices for the reduction of maternal morbidity and mortality through providers’ behavioral change
  • Development and validation of indicators to assess the content and quality of maternal health care
  • Development and testing of integrated platforms for reproductive health care and chronic diseases among women in low and middle-income countries
  • Estimating the financial and programmatic value of women’s contributions at all levels of health system
