This study will evaluate the relative impact of different heating devices on the indoor quality of 12 homes in Santiago, Chile. Specifically, the study will examine homes that use electric, kerosene or wood stove heaters. Using sampling devices developed by our research group, the study will sample air pollutants in the 12 selected homes in Santiago for a period of one week. The study will also measure outdoor pollution levels. Using source apportionment techniques, the study will measure the impact of outdoor sources and different heating devices on the indoor environment.
