The Cabot Fund for International Scholars was established in 2001 by the Cabot Family Charitable Trust to support the education of students from developing countries at the Harvard School of Public Health. The fund has permitted scholars of outstanding talent to pursue training that enables them to effectively address some of the most pressing health problems in their home countries and to become leaders in their fields. Cabot International Scholars are selected on the basis of both merit and need, with particular attention paid to potential for achievement in the sphere of global public health. Since 2001, the program has helped 17 students attend the Harvard School of Public Health and receive an education and training in public health. Students from developing countries who have trained at HSPH have returned home to make a profound difference in the health and well-being of their fellow countrymen.
