Description:

This project aims to achieve primary prevention of HIV infection through expanding programs to reduce mother-to-child transmission; improve the care and treatment of HIV/AIDS and related opportunistic infections by improving STI management; enhancing care and treatment of opportunistic infections, including tuberculosis (TB); and initiating programs to provide anti-retroviral therapy (ART); and strengthen the capacity of health authorities at Dar City Council and the three municipalities involved, Ilala, Kindondoni, and Temeke, in order to collect service utilization data and thus better monitor and manage national HIV/AIDS programs.
