This project in collaboration with the British Council and Nigerian organizations will address Nigeria’s demographic dividend and key aspects of the country’s social and political environment. Researchers will examine Nigeria’s prospects for economic growth in relation to its ability to benefit from demographic change. Specifically the research team will examine how Nigeria’s growth will be affected by a variety of factors such as education and health and the difference that various policies will make to Nigeria over the next 15-20 years. The resulting academic and policy papers will identify policies that Nigeria could adopt to promote rapid and equitable development while simultaneously stimulating discussion within Nigeria about such policies.
