The purpose of this study is to develop a report that will provide a portrait of health literacy among Canadian adults and discuss its implications. It will also (1) Examine data sets over time to provide trend analysis, (2) Compare U.S. and Canadian findings, and (3) Analyze broader policy, educational, and health implications. This work builds on the base established with “”Literacy and Health in America”” and can provide a foundation for subsequent analysis of ‘health literacy’ in other industrialized nations.
