A Conversation with Nan Laird

Nan LairdTwo summers ago, Nan Laird sat down with former chair Louise Ryan (PhD ’83) to reflect on her 40 years at Harvard.  Their conversation is wonderfully comprehensive and discusses her major contributions to statistical methods for longitudinal data analysis, missing data and meta-analysis, and her work in statistical genetics and statistical methods for psychiatric epidemiology.

She also talks with Louise about the pathway of her career and offers some helpful advice for balancing work and family life, acknowledging the powerful encouragement and support that her family has given her over the years.

The conversation was published in the Vol. 30, No. 4 issue of the Statistical Science journal and can be found here!
