We are extremely excited to welcome a talented and diverse group of students to our incoming class! PhD students (and one incoming Master’s student) began their August preparatory sessions in the Department today.
The new class consists of 43 students, with 15 enrolled in our Ph.D. doctoral program, 18 enrolled in our Biostatistics Master’s programs, and 10 students enrolled in our joint Computational Biology and Quantitative Genetics Master’s program. Of these new degree students, 23 are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and 20 are international students. There are 23 women and 20 men, and their prior degrees are distributed as follows (1 PhD, 11 have a prior Master’s degree, 31 enter with Bachelor’s degrees). We look forward to getting to know this great new group of students and wish them every success during their time with us and beyond.
Students are in session until 3:30pm each day, but come help welcome them at 4pm on Thursday , August 4th for an ice cream social in the conference room (Bldg 2, Rm 426).
