Demand for novel approaches to the analysis of sports data has been on the rise over the last decade in professional, amateur and collegiate sports. The Sports Analytics Laboratory at Harvard University was recently formed to meet this demand and now functions as the hub of sports statistics scholarly research at Harvard. The Lab is based in the Statistics Department and consists of faculty, students and researchers from a variety of disciplines who work on novel and creative ways to address problems in statistics in sports. Headed by Dr. Mark Glickman, Senior Lecturer on Statistics and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports, the Lab intends to facilitate connections among Harvard researchers with a common interest in sports analytics, and connect with outside organizations to provide data and potentially fund research.
Please contact Dr. Glickman at glickman@stat.harvard.edu if you are interested in becoming affiliated with the Lab or have any questions.
